The russian occupiers began issuing russian passports in the occupied territories, reported the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko.

"Top news about russian passports for Kherson and Zaporizhia will not be complete, if we do not add that today the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" [DPR] started issuing russian passports for Mariupol and the newly occupied territories of Donetsk region without obtaining a passport of the so-called "DPR", - he wrote in Telegram channel.

"The actual annexation, in particular, of Mariupol has begun," Andryushchenko added.

Today, russian president vladimir putin signed a decree on a simplified procedure for admission to russian citizenship of residents of Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. In fact, it means the compulsory certification of Ukrainians in the occupied territories.

On April 24, 2019, putin signed a similar decree for residents of the occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine. After that, the Russian Federation began to conduct compulsory certification of of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions [CADLR] residents.
