The Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin paid a working visit to Ukraine for the first time and met with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. She also visited Irpen and Bucha.

This is stated on the website of the head of state.

During the meeting, Zelenskiy thanked for the support provided by Finland to Ukraine. These include five defense aid packages, sanctions against russia, and financial and humanitarian aid.

"These are very important direct signals of support, first of all for the Ukrainian people, our people, who see that they are not alone with the difficult challenges of today," said the President.

During the conversation with Marin Zelenskiy, he stressed the need to introduce the 6th package of sanctions against russia as soon as possible. Also they discussed important components of the development of sanctions policy against the aggressor country.

The meeting also touched upon the topic of Ukraine's future membership in the EU. Zelenskiy stressed that Finland's support in this issue is very important.

The President of Ukraine told the Prime Minister of Finland about the work on rebuilding our state after the victory over russia. Zelenskiy stressed that Ukrainians are counting on Finland's active participation in this process. The head of state also invited the Finnish side to take under its patronage the Ukrainian region, city or industry for post-war reconstruction.

Sanna Marin noted that Finland understands Ukrainians very well, as it has similar historical experience.

"It was extremely difficult to look at all that russia has done with these cities," Marin said after visiting Irpen and Bucha. "A lot of people have died. The same time, the admiration of the heroic spirit of Ukrainian people, fighting for freedom and the whole Europe ".

Zelenskiy held talks on the situation on the front and the prospects of Ukraine's membership in the EU with the Federal Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer.

On the same day, the head of state discussed with the President of Liberia ways out of the food crisis due to the war.
