Russia has employed all its forces and means to seize the territory and encircle Ukrainian troops. The battles have reached their maximum intensity. The enemies are conducting assaults in several directions simultaneously.
An extremely difficult and prolonged period of struggle awaits Ukraine. But as the Deputy Minister of Defense, Hanna Maliar, said at a briefing, it is impossible to wage war without losses.
Oleksiy Hromov, a representative of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, added that the enemies were trying to establish complete control first over the Luhansk and then over the Donetsk regions.
Despite the advantage in personnel and equipment, the russians could not achieve the goal. As a result, russia continues targeting the objects of infrastructure and residential areas.
In the Kharkiv area, the enemies fired rounds on Ukrainian troops to prevent them from reaching the state border. Partially the russians are trying to improve their tactical situation and are conducting assault operations but fail. They use artillery against Ukrainian defense positions in the Rubizhne, Ternove, Cherkaske, and Ruski Tyshky areas.
Sloviansk area: rf is trying to hold its ground and create conditions to resume the offensive. The enemies also fire rounds at Ukrainian defenders. The russians attempt to conduct assault operations to advance in Dovhenke and Borodychne area but fail.
In the Lyman, Sievierodonetsk, and Bakhmut areas, the russian enemies are trying to break through the defense to reach the administrative border of the Luhansk region. The occupiers are conducting an offensive and trying to seize the city of Lyman completely, using aircraft and artillery support. Furthermore, according to information that needs to be clarified, the russians keep trying to force the Sivrskyi Donets river.
Russia is conducting an offensive in the Sievierodonetsk area but is failing. The occupiers shell bridges between Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, trying to break through the defense to establish control over the Bakhmut-Lysychansk road. PMC "Wagner" mercenaries keep positions near Popasna.
In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivsk, and Zaporizhzhia areas, the intensity of offensive operations has decreased, but the russians are conducting mortar shelling at Ukrainian defense positions.
In the Kurakhiv area, the enemies tried to break through the defense in Oleksandrivka, Mar'inka, Stepne, and Novomykhailivka but failed.
There were no active war actions in the Mykolayiv area; the russians fired rounds at Ukrainian defense units and tried to maintain control over the Kherson region.
Ukrainian forces tied to breach to get to the motorized rifle company using the IFV-3. The russians conducted an assault operation in the area of Oleksandrivha-Tavriyske but failed.
The representative of the General Staff reported that in the future, the enemies are likely to focus on maintaining their positions. However, the possibility of conducting offensive operations in certain areas to improve the tactical situation and probably reach the administrative border of the Kherson region remains.
There are no enemy offensive groups in the Volyn and Polissia operational areas. At the same time, "Iskander" missile systems were transferred to the Lunine district of the Brest region. It is possible they will be used to shell the western regions of Ukraine.
In the Siversk area, the enemies are covering the border of Belarus. They conducted artillery and mortar shellings of Ukrainian positions in Mezenivka, Krasnopillia, and Slavhorod.
In the Bessarabia area, russian special forces continue spreading information about the mining of social infrastructure objects and government facilities to create panic in Transnistria and justify the announcement of the red level of the terrorist threat. The possibility of further russian provocations in Moldova remains.
In the Black Sea, the russians are blocking navigation with two ships. In addition, two frigates that carry high-precision weapons, in this case, up to 16 cruise missiles "Kalibr," are ready for action.
"Since 19 May 2022, till 6 a.m. today, the russian armed forces have launched 63 missile strikes and 41 airstrikes on the territory of Ukraine. In most cases, the occupiers targeted transport infrastructure and railway facilities," - reported the General Staff.
At Kakhovka HPP, the russian occupiers do not allow the repair of broken equipment, which imposes an ecological catastrophe. This situation has already caused the partial flooding of Nova Kakhovka and nearby villages and threatens Kherson.
Yesterday the russians launched missile strikes at Soledar, Bakhmut, Ustynivka, Pokrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, and other cities and towns of Ukraine. They also conducted airstrikes on Lyman, Avdiivka, and other municipalities.
The threat of the Belarus attack under the pretext of conducting military training remains. Training is scheduled for the end of May at 10 Belarusian military training grounds located near our borders.
