First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Japarova met with a group of Chilean parliamentarians, reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
Members of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress of the Republic were in Ukraine as part of the development of Ukrainian-Chilean inter-parliamentary relations.
"Chilean parliamentarians have expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their fight against russian aggression and reaffirmed the Chilean government and parliament's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement said.
Politicians recently visited the liberated Ukrainian cities, including Bucha, Irpin and Gostomel, personally convinced of the brutal crimes of Russian aggression.
Japarova thanked the Chilean parliamentarians for showing solidarity with Ukraine and called for more decisive action in defense of Ukraine both in Chile and in the international arena, including the imposition of sanctions.
"During the meeting, they discussed the possible participation of Chilean politicians in other projects and initiatives aimed at supporting Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity, as well as disseminating truthful information about the just struggle of the Ukrainian people against russian invaders in Latin America," the Foreign Ministry said.
"She met with members of the Chilean parliament - Senator Rojo Edwards and deputies Benjamin Morenob and Cristian Ayala, who strongly condemned the russian aggression in Ukraine. I am grateful for the readiness of Chile to more actively support Ukraine, in particular, in contacts with other countries in the region," the Deputy Foreign Minister wrote on Twitter.
