The self-proclaimed President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has ordered the creation of a new operational unit of the Belarusian Armed Forces in the Ukrainian direction - the southern wing, reported by BelTA.
"We see that we will be under military pressure through Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. Unfortunately, a new direction has opened up and we can not ignore it," he said during the meeting.
Lukashenko added that it is necessary to immediately create a new operational direction - the south wing.
"We have to carry out this rotation, it is my strict demand, it is a condition of wartime. But so far without war," he said.
Today the deputy minister of defense Anna Malyar declared that there is a threat of use of Belarus for blows across Ukraine under the pretext of carrying out trainings. The threat of using the Transnistrian region of Moldova to strike at Ukraine also remains.
