Ukraine received one of the modifications of the 155mm self-propelled artillery system M109.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov announced the receipt of heavy weapons.
“I am glad to announce the news - the 155 mm caliber artillery fleet is being replenished. Ukraine has already received one of the modifications of the M109 ACS. It is very high-quality equipment. And its receipt was the result of cooperation between several countries,” he said.
He reminded, that the American ACS will join three other types of heavy artillery - M777 howitzers, FH70 howitzers and French CAESAR ACS, that are already on the front line.
“There are more and more responses in the public space of our soldiers who have gained experience in the use of foreign-made heavy weapons in combat. I am glad that most part of these responses is very positive. Thanks to the skill of our defenders, the russian occupiers will get the response they didn`t expect”, Reznikov assured.
We are reminding, that the M109 (M109 howitzer) is an American self-propelled howitzer, which is in service with the artillery of the US Army and some other countries. The M109A6 Paladin remains the country's main self-propelled artillery system for the foreseeable future. In addition to the United States, it is a standard NATO ACS, has been supplied in significant quantities to a number of other countries, and has been used in many regional conflicts.
Reznikov also said that Ukraine receives ground-based launchers and a corresponding number of anti-ship missiles “Harpoon”.
