Vice Chancellor and German Economy Minister Robert Habeck has denied that his country does not supply or supplies too few weapons to Ukrainians.

In an interview with the newspaper Welt am Sonntag, he said that right now the Ukrainian military is learning to use German howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000. Soon these 155-mm howitzers will be delivered to Ukraine, quotes Gabeka Deutsche Welle.

"Therefore, in no case can we say that Germany does not supply anything or supplies too few," he said.

At the same time, the German government cannot fulfill all of Ukraine's wishes. He added that the accusations against Germany about insufficient aid were false, but understandable.

"False because it is untrue. And understandable, because we, as the largest economy in the EU, are a country that is rightly expected, and because Germany has had too uncritical relations with the russian government in recent years," he said.

The Die Welt article said that Germany had reduced Ukraine's military support to a minimum over the past nine weeks and had not provided significant arms since the end of March. Applications for the supply of 100 Marder BMPs and 88 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine have been in the Federal Security Council for five weeks. Journalists, citing interlocutors among Ukrainian officials, write that there is no progress in this direction. The Office of the Council replied that it was not authorized to provide information on the progress of the proceedings.
