After talks with Vladimir Putin, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that his country would receive gas at a good price and that a three-year contract with russia would be signed.
This was reported by “European Pravda” with reference to the RTS television and radio company.
Vučić said that this morning he had a “good conversation” with the russian president, and that they talked about several different topics. After the conversation, he said, he sent a letter to Gazprom director Alexei Miller to discuss new volumes of gas.
Vučić said he also explained to Putin that “because of industrial progress, Serbia needs more gas.”
“If we have an agreement on everything, we will have a safe winter when it comes to gas,” Vucic said.
The Serbian president also said that he had talked with Putin about a further construction of a gas storage facility in Serbia.
In November last year, during a meeting in Sochi, the presidents of Serbia and russia reached an agreement that the price of russian gas for the next six months will be $270, ie will remain unchanged.
Also, after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Vučić said that Serbia would not impose sanctions on russia because it considered it best to maintain a friendship with Moscow.
