The strategic goal of the President of the russian Federation remains unchanged - the destruction of Ukraine as a state. Efforts are expected to be concentrated in some key areas, in particular in the east and south of Ukraine.

This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Gromov at a briefing on June 2.

Training of the Belarusian armed forces, regular shelling of the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions from the territory of the russian Federation and the escalation of the situation in Transnistria are general plans aimed at restraining our troops from regrouping and sending them to more important areas.

“In parallel with the hostilities, the enemy will take measures aimed at destabilizing the internal situation in Ukraine,” he said.

In the near future, according to the General Staff, russia's priority will be:

  • increasing the intensity of air and missile strikes on civilian and military facilities throughout Ukraine

  • continuation of the total destruction of infrastructure and civilians

  • in the future - the encirclement and destruction of the Allied Forces, the creation of a stable land corridor from the Rostov region to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, then - to Transnistria. As a result, Ukraine is deprived of access to the Black and Azov Seas

  • identification of routes for logistics and destruction of warehouses with equipment and ammunition and disruption of the supply of equipment from Western partners

“I want to emphasize that, despite strong efforts, the enemy has not been able to achieve the goals of its so-called operation for more than three months. However, we do not have time to relax. The Armed Forces and other defence forces are doing everything possible to deter the enemy,” stressed Oleksiy Gromov.

We are reminding, that tomorrow will be 100 days since the Ukrainian people bravely resisted the Russian military invasion.
