The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the murder of a Ukrainian couple by the russian occupiers.

The press service of the prosecutor's office reported this information.

"According to the investigation, on 1 June 2022, in the village of Vysokopillya, an unidentified military from the russian army shot an unarmed local couple in their own yard. The couple died immediately from gunshot wounds," - reports the press service.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated for violating the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder.

The prosecutor's office addressed Ukrainians who witnessed the war crimes of the russian occupiers to send evidence to the portal https://warcrimes.gov.ua.

Kherson regional council deputy Serhiy Khlan recently said that residents of the region who were illegally detained and tortured were required to sign documents condemning the "Ukrainian regime," "congratulating russian troops," and applying for a russian passport. At the end of May, the russian army attacked residents of Chornobayivka in the Kherson region, injuring six people and killing one.
