More than 30 million hectares of Ukraine need demining, announced The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi on the telethon.
He said that demining had been carried out on more than 2.7 million hectares so far. Work is underway in Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions
"We involve foreign teams of pyrotechnicians and their equipment. They help us demine Ukrainian territories," Monastyrysky said.
The Minister added that there are already tragic cases when Ukrainians detonate explosive devices. In May alone, 15 such cases were recorded.
To this end, the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducts preventive measures among citizens. Among them, in particular, are relevant lessons in schools in the new school year and educational cartoons with a dog-pyrotechnic Patron from the State Emergency Services of Ukraine.
SES reported that almost 300 thousand square kilometers of the territory of Ukraine need humanitarian demining. Every day pyrotechnics seize 2 to 5 thousand explosive objects.
