Until the end of martial law, information about the number of fallen Ukrainian defenders will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to public, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar has said.
"So, why is the total number of the dead not yet officially announced? This is due to military necessity during martial law. This is information that the enemy must not know, because military specialists can draw many conclusions from the data and use this information for analysis and planning," Malyar said.
She insisted that the Ministry of Defence would ensure proper payments to the families of the fallen.
Malyar also appealed to public initiatives that collect data on the dead in various ways, systematise and make it public with the request to take into account that making such information public during martial law harms our defence.
