The russian armed forces carried out a targeted deliberate artillery shelling of a penitentiary institution in the temporarily occupied village of Olenivka, Donetsk Region, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were held among others.

This was done in order to accuse Ukraine of committing war crimes and to cover up the torture of prisoners, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff has said.

The torture and execution of the POWs was carried out on the orders of the occupying administration and the command of the russian Armed Forces.

"According to the information of the chief of the Missile Troops and Artillery Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, no rocket or artillery strikes were carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the Olenivka settlement. The missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, thanks to high-precision weapons received from partner countries, deliver exceptionally accurate strikes on russian military facilities only," the General Staff reported.

It added that the enemy continues its propaganda methods of waging an information war to accuse the Ukrainian Armed Forces of shelling civilian infrastructure and the population, thus concealing its own insidious actions.

The other day, the Russians published a video of a Ukrainian prisoner of war being abused on camera in Olenivka. There, the russians kept prisoners of war from the Azov regiment. The enemy has set up a so-called filtration camp in this locality.
