At its session on 15 August, parliament appointed two members of the High Council of Justice, Maydan lawyer Roman Maselko and National Law Academy Assistant Professor Mykola Moroz.

Both were supported by 258 MPs, Voice MP Yarosav Zheleznyak told LB.ua.

Other candidates to fill parliament’s quota in the High Council of Justice included judge Olena Zaichko and lawyer Vitaliy Talko.

The High Council of Justice makes a proposal for the appointment of judges, decides on the violation of incompatibility requirements by judges or prosecutors, may dismiss judges from office, approve their detention or custody.
