President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set up an advisory council for the de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. It will act as a consultative and advisory body under the Ukrainian president.
This is stated in his decree No 579/2022.
According to the decree, the advisory council will be established to facilitate coordination of measures on de-occupation, reintegration and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, protection of rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens, overcoming the consequences and compensating the damage caused to Ukraine, its citizens and legal entities in connection with the armed aggression and temporary occupation of part of Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation.
According to the document, the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, should submit proposals on the personal composition of the advisory council within a month. The president of Ukraine approves the composition of the council.
Zelenskyy has also approved the regulations on the advisory council.
Meetings of the advisory council shall be held as needed, but at least twice a year.
On 15 August, Zelenskyy convened a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. At the meeting, participants discussed the current military and strategic situation, strengthening of Ukraine's defence in the information space, as well as the status of implementation of the president's orders. The meeting also heard a report on the status of the decision of the National Security and Defence Council "On urgent measures for the state's cyber defence".
