The Russian occupiers are stepping up filtration measures and repression against the population in Enerhodar due to failing loyalty and low public support, the press service of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate has said.
For this purpose, a special unit of the Russian Guard was brought to the city. The Russians, with the help of local collaborators, are compiling lists that include former military personnel, ATO veterans, members of the security forces, activists and pro-Ukrainian residents.
"Detained city residents and captive Ukrainian army servicemen are being held in the converted premises of the local Interior Ministry department and the city court... It is also known that wounded Russians are being placed in the local maternity hospital. There are plans to issue them with civilian clothes and involve them in the production of propaganda clips about 'wounded civilians as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces'," the Main Intelligence Directorate said.
Due to constant threats from the occupiers and fear for their lives, Enerhodar residents are forced to leave en masse for Ukraine-controlled territory.
The intelligence service says that it is officially forbidden to leave Enerhodar, but at checkpoints one can "negotiate" with the Russians for a bribe. It amounts to 5,000-7,000 dollars.
Most of the roads around the city and the bank of the Kakhovka reservoir are mined, the intelligence service added.
A powerful explosion was heard in the occupied Enerhodar at around 12:20 today. After the explosion, power and water supply in the city disappeared simultaneously.
Subsequently, residents reported further explosions and hits. The provocations were carried out by the Russian occupying troops.
