Russians have already made about 300 strikes on the Ukrainian energy system. Preparations are currently underway to take measures in case of "dramatic damage" that will require more time to restore, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko announced during a telethon.
"This is a whole mechanism that involves almost all state bodies, local military administrations, all this will be properly communicated to citizens, they will be informed where to get electricity, heat, phone signal, charge mobile phones" he explained.
These measures are now being worked out.
Halushchenko stressed that it is important to protect energy facilities with air defence.
According to Halushchenko, to avoid forced power outages, Ukrainians should voluntarily reduce consumption. Saving at least 20% would critically help the system.
