Russia continues to accumulate weapons, equipment and personnel near the border with Ukraine and in the temporarily occupied territories. The situation is stable in Volyn, Zhytomyr and Kyiv directions. However, the aggressive rhetoric of the authorities of Belarus and Russia regarding the deployment of a group of troops of the so-called Union State is escalating. The threat of a renewed offensive on the northern front is growing. This time it may be directed at the west of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, the deputy chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Brig Gen Oleksiy Hromov, has said at a briefing.

Such a scenario will aim to cut off the supply of weapons to Ukraine from partner countries. Military exercises continue in Belarus. Measures for hidden mobilization are also being taken.

"The General Staff of the Armed Forces is constantly monitoring the situation. The Defence Forces are taking measures to ensure reliable protection of the northern direction, in particular Kyiv. In the event of the opening of the second front, namely the conduct of offensive actions from the Republic of Belarus, we will be ready for an adequate response," Hromov said.

The number of Russian military equipment has recently increased at the Zyabrawka airfield near Homel in Belarus. Also, sand mounds have appeared there, which can be used to place radar facilities that adjust missiles.
