More than 8000 mercenaries of the PMC Liga (former Wagner) are involved in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine. Most of the units are currently stationed directly in the areas along the contact line, the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR) informs.
"The vast majority of the personnel of the assault units of the said PMC are mercenaries recruited from among the prisoners," the intelligence informs.
They have the largest losses of personnel. The task of the mercenaries is to support a smaller group of experienced "contractors".
According to the GUR, to avoid the threat of "personnel hunger", the PMC is urgently training several hundred additional mercenaries from among prisoners to be sent to the combat zone.
