The Russians mined the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station back in April and are now mining the locks and support, the website of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) reports.

It is noted that the occupiers expect the Ukrainian military to soon liberate the right-bank part of Kherson Region and are preparing a series of terrorist attacks on this territory. In particular, the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir and the units of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant are under threat of destruction.

"The explosion of the dam was planned in advance - the main mining works were carried out in April. During the current week, additional mining of gateways and supports of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was carried out. Two tented military "KamAZ" trucks without drivers were installed at the dam. Both vehicles are fully loaded with boxes of explosives," - the statement reads.

The intelligence is sure that "the terrorist state is deliberately preparing terrorist attacks that will lead to catastrophic consequences".

"If these plans are implemented, dozens of Ukrainian settlements, including Kherson, will be affected by the disaster. The scale of the ecological catastrophe in this case will go far beyond Ukraine and will affect the entire Black Sea region," the GUR emphasizes.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russians had mined the dam and units of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. According to him, in case of an explosion, the water supply to a significant part of southern Ukraine may be disrupted.
