Eighteen regions are 100% ready for the central heating season in Ukraine, Minister fpr Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Chernyshov has said during a conversation with journalists, the LB.ua correspondent reports.
Four regions are more than 99% ready. These are Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Poltava and Sumy regions.
The government-controlled territory of Donetsk Region is 51.5% ready in terms of residential buildings and 58% in terms of boiler rooms.
Meanwhile, more than 4,000 social institutions have already turned on heating. Of these, more than 1,700 are kindergartens, 1,600 are educational institutions and 679 are hospitals.
At the same time, residential buildings in nine regions and in Kyiv are already being heated.
"Heads of regional administrations, mayors of cities, rescuers, builders and employees of public utilities are doing everything to restore anything destroyed by the enemy every day, in fact 24/7, in the conditions of war. The start of this year's heating season is the result of teamwork of the central government, local authorities and public utilities. We do not stop, we continue to work," Chernyshov said.
He also asked Ukrainians to mind calls to save electricity during peak hours.
