Russian occupiers continue to terrorize Ukraine with missile attacks on civilian infrastructure, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
"The photo is just one example of how the enemy is trying to break us. These are despicable attacks on critical facilities. This is a characteristic tactic of terrorists. The world can and must stop this terror," he stressed.
Zelenskyy thanked all power engineers and services that are now working at the affected sites and restoring the infrastructure, as well as air defence.
On the morning of 22 October, Russians struck energy facilities in different regions of Ukraine.
Outages were reported in Lutsk, Rivne, Khmelnytskyy among others.
The Russian army also launched two missile strikes on Odesa region. The missiles hit the energy infrastructure, which resulted in power outages in some settlements.
Also, several missiles flying towards Kyiv were shot down by air defence in the region.
Ukrenergo introduced temporary restrictions of electricity consumption in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions and in Kyiv. Later, the company reported that the scale of damage to Ukraine's energy infrastructure as a result of the attack on 22 October may be greater than after the missile strikes on 10-12 October.
