An occupiers' torture chamber was found in Bilyayivka, Kherson Region. Russians kept the locals and residents of the surrounding villages there, the Head of the Novooleksandrivska Community of the Beryslav District Oleksandr Levechko stated in a comment to "Pryazovia News" (Radio Liberty project). According to him, no other torture chambers were found in the community.

"The place had no windows, there was only one door, there was garbage, dirt, everything was scattered, everything was in ruins. A criminal case was also initiated against the torture chamber in Bilyayivka, the State Security Service of Ukraine is conducting criminal proceedings," the official said.

He added that during the occupation, the Russians made door-to-door visits, checked phones and equipment, and physically abused people. The occupiers also abducted people in Bilyayivka and other settlements. In the village of Havrylivka in mid-April, Russians killed a boy and then told the residents that it was done by a "sniper of the Armed Forces of Ukraine". The occupiers abducted and threatened the child's father.

On 17 October, the Kherson edition of "Most" reported that a woman was found hanged near the court building in the temporarily occupied Skadovsk. According to her relatives, she could have been killed for her pro-Ukrainian position. The mayor of Skadovsk said that he knows about more than 10 cases when residents were tortured by the occupiers.
