Russian occupiers have increased pressure on the employees of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and are persuading them to sign contracts with the Russian atomic energy company Rosatom, the Ukrainian nuclear energy company Energoatom has said.
It added that the Russians redoubled their pressure on the staff, involving heavyweights from Rosatom's top management such as first deputy director general for operational management Andrey Petrov and first deputy chairman of Rosenergoatom Aleksandr Shutikov.
"Having prepared, on 26 October 2022, these two - Shutikov in person and Petrov in the format of a video message - began to 'press' the Ukrainian team at the Russian-occupied ZNPP," Energoatom said.
The Russians gathered all ZNPP employees and tried to convince them to join Rosatom. However, the attempt was unsuccessful.
"ZNPP nuclear workers were skeptical about the 'ardent speeches' by the invaders and once again demonstrated that they would not work for the invaders," Energoatom noted.
