As of 1 November, police found 1,367 bodies of civilians killed by Russians in the settlements of Kyiv Region that had been liberated from Russian troops, the Head of the Kyiv Region Police Andriy Nebytov announced at a briefing in the Media Centre Ukraine.

"384 of our compatriots are considered missing. We do not know their fate. I hope they are alive, perhaps taken somewhere to the territory of the Russian Federation, perhaps imprisoned. But today we do not know where they are. Therefore, we urge all citizens, if you know something, if you have someone missing, if you cannot contact someone, be sure to report it to the National Police at any department," - he said.

Nebytov added that 200 bodies of killed civilians remain unidentified. DNA samples were taken from them, and the bodies were buried according to the serial number.

"According to the procedure, DNA is taken and placed in the database. Then, if any person requests to find a relative, DNA is taken and compared. Gradually, as we receive the results of the examinations, the number of unidentified corpses obviously decreases. Relatives are informed where the body is buried and a decision on reburial is made," - the chief of the Kyiv Region police said.
