In a month and a half, the unit hit more than 200 enemy targets using the American M777 howitzer. It can fire five shots per minute and has a 40 kilometres range.
Not everyone can operate a 155-mm cannon, but some Ukrainian servicemen learned to work with it abroad and are now improving their skills in battles, the Operational Command South reports on Facebook.
The military say that at first, they made marks on the guns for each destroyed target.
"This is us having destroyed more than one battery of self-propelled artillery systems, ammunition depots, many infantry fighting vehicles and tanks, as well as two S-400s. The last two were destroyed as accurately as possible: both shots hit the target. But when the number of destroyed equipment exceeded 50 units, we stopped drawing marks, because there was not enough space on the gun," said the artillerist, who was given the call sign "Maniac" by his comrades for the look and zeal with which he charges the gun.
