European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson arrived in Kyiv, her Twitter account states.
“I am in Kyiv today to help scale up support to the Ukrainian energy sector. Ukrainian energy infrastructure is under targeted attack by Russia - a cruel and inhumane tactic to cause human suffering as the winter is approaching,” Simson wrote.
“The EU stands by Ukraine to help them until they prevail,” she added.
This year's autumn in Europe is unusually warm. This helped to save gas in storage facilities, which are now about 95% full.
