Accusations of a terrorist country regarding Ukraine's plans to use a "dirty bomb" are alarming, but first of all, they are an attempt to put pressure on the international community to persuade the Ukrainian authorities to negotiate, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reports citing the interview of its representative Vadym Skibitskyy to La Repubblica.
"This is a high-level information campaign, which is very disturbing. It resembles Russia's position on chemical weapons' use in Syria and Libya, and we know how that went. That is why we invite IAEA representatives to check all our facilities, including Chornobyl, where plutonium used to be produced for military needs in Soviet times," Skibitskyy said.
According to him, the campaign aims to pressurise the international community to force us to negotiate.
"This is their old approach: when they no longer know what to do, they raise the issue of nuclear and chemical weapons," the representative of the military intelligence of Ukraine summed up.
