Russia carried out a strike on the town of Kurakhove in Donetsk Region, killing eight civilians and injuring five, a deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, has said.
According to the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, the strike hit a market, a bus station, filling stations and residential buildings in the town centre.
Donetsk Region has been seeing the fiercest fighting against Russian troops which constantly target unoccupied population centres. The Ukrainian authorities call on local residents to evacuate.
