On the morning of 14 December, the Russian army launched a massive attack using attack drones. 13 drones were shot down, no people were injured, but there was damage to residential buildings.
The mayor of the city Vitaliy Klitschko reported the air attack on Telegram. The Head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Bunechko added that a second attack was possible. Around 9:10, the alarm was called off.
Update 9:37. "Kyiv suffered two waves of enemy drone attacks. Due to the high performance of air defenсe and electronic warfare units, 13 enemy drones were destroyed. Debris from downed UAVs hit one administrative building, and four more residential buildings were slightly damaged (Shevchenkivskyy district of the capital). There were no casualties," said Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
Update 08:56. Due to the successful work of air defence and electronic warfare units, 13 kamikaze drones have already been destroyed, the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
Update 08:09. Another UAV has been shot down - 11th already. The alert continues.
Around 6:30 explosions were heard in the Shevchenkivskyy district of Kyiv. A fragment of the drone hit an administrative building.
Over the past seven days, this is the third massive attack by Russians using Shaheds. The previous ones attacked mainly the southern regions.
According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the renewed use of Iranian drones for attacks after a three-week break indicates that Moscow has received a new shipment from Tehran.
