Frontline settlements in Donetsk Region, including Bakhmut, are destroyed by 60%, the head of Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, has said on the air of the national telethon.

"The whole world has already seen the photos of the terrible condition of historical buildings in Bakhmut, which have cultural value, educational institutions. In general, this applies to all frontline settlements, large and small, where the enemy tried to advance and occupy the territory," he noted.

Kyrylenko added that Russians spare no effort trying to advance in the Bakhmut direction, but suffer huge losses.

About 10,000 local residents remain in Bakhmut now. Because the infrastructure is destroyed, it is impossible to provide centralized electricity and water supply.

Earlier it was reported that Russia loses thousands of its soldiers in the battles for Bakhmut.
