NATO called on Germany and other Allies to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine. As this is the fastest way to peace, RBC-Ukraine reports citing NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
"It may sound paradoxical, but military support for Ukraine is the fastest way to peace," Stoltenberg said.
He also stated that he considers Ukrainian attacks on military facilities in Russia to be absolutely legitimate.
“Every country has the right to defend itself. So does Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.
Asked whether he supports providing Ukraine with medium-range missiles, Stoltenberg said there is an ongoing dialogue between the allies and with Ukraine on specific systems.
He also noted that NATO allies had previously supplied Ukraine with long-range systems. These include HIMARS missile systems, long-range artillery and drones.
