The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by its spokesman Oleh Nikolenko, sharply reacted to Austria's call "not to overreact" to Russia's aggression.
The Austrian Foreign Minister urged to "keep a sense of proportion" and "not to overreact" in the context of responding to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
"We appreciate the cooperation with Austria, we are grateful for the support in the UN and the EU, and we are looking forward to the visit of the Austrian Minister to Ukraine in this regard. In particular, we invite the head of Austrian diplomacy to visit the city of Dnipro. There, he will have an opportunity to repeat his arguments about the sense of proportion in front of the relatives of forty-four people who died as a result of the Russian missile strike on a high-rise building. Or those whose loved ones have not yet been found under the rubble," Nikolenko wrote.
He noted that calls to continue the dialogue with Russia, to respect its history and culture, strengthen the Kremlin's sense of impunity and are perceived by it only as an invitation to continue the genocide of Ukrainians.
As of 11 a.m. on 17 January, rescuers found the bodies of 44 victims of the Russian strike on a residential building in Dnipro. There are 79 people injured and 39 rescued.
