At the World Economic Forum, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said that Finland is ready to participate in a coalition to supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine, Reuters reports.

The Head of the Finnish Ministry noted that he was hopeful a decision would be made to start the delivery of tanks.

“We are currently in intensive discussions on what more we can do as the European Union, Nordic countries to help Ukraine,” he said.

The minister added that the discussion was ongoing about the Leopard tanks and that Finland definitely was ready to play its part in that support.

Germany's allies ramped up pressure on Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Tuesday to allow the supply of German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine ahead of the Ramstein meeting this Friday.

During a visit to Lviv last week, Polish President Andrzej Duda said his country is ready to provide Ukraine with German modern tanks as part of an international coalition. The supply requires Germany's consent.
