Due to the actions of Russian occupiers, a unique full-scale simulator which is used by the staff to train skills necessary to work at a nuclear facility has stopped, the press service of the nuclear energy company Energoatom has said.

"Ruscists are deliberately blocking access to workplaces for simulator instructors because they refused to cooperate with the enemy and sign contracts with the fake Zaporizhzhya NPP Operating Organization," the company said.

Energoatom emphasized that training and maintaining qualifications on the simulator is an important component of operational activities for NPP safety. Work on the simulator should be carried out systematically so that personnel retain and develop previously acquired skills.

"Since the full-scale simulator cannot fully function now, Ukrainian nuclear engineers will not have the opportunity to study or improve their skills for an unknown period of time, and this threatens the safety of operation of Europe's largest nuclear facility," the company said.

It has recently been reported that the Russians cannot launch any power unit of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Meanwhile, they are trying to recruit 150 Belarusian repair workers to work at the plant.
