In addition to the 14 previously announced Leopard 2 tanks, Poland is going to give Ukraine 60 PT-91 Twardy tanks (a modernized version of the T-72), Ukrinform reports.

"Poland was the first country to supply 250 tanks (to Ukraine - ed.) Now we are ready to send 60 of our modernized PT-91 tanks, as well as 14 Leopard 2 tanks," Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in an interview with the Canadian TV channel CTV News.

He pointed out that modern tanks are very important for Ukraine now, given that Russia can have from several to 15 thousand of them.

"If we do not want Ukraine to lose, we must be very open and persistent in our support," the Polish prime minister emphasized.

According to him, Poland is now taking further steps to get different countries to join the international coalition to supply Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

The same information was confirmed by the Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.

"Poland will send 60 PT-91 Twardy tanks to Ukraine, along with the previously announced 14 Leopard 2 tanks," he wrote.

Yermak thanked the allies for their support.
