The Ukrainian 155-mm caliber Bohdana self-propelled artillery system has successfully passed tests on the battlefield, Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said.
"The Ministry of Defence did not advertise it, but over the past year we have not stopped purchasing weapons and military equipment from domestic manufacturers. Where possible, within our competence, we facilitated the deployment to new locations and increased capacity," the minister said.
He added that the Defence Ministry financed the new artillery systems in the spring of 2022.
"Western-made tanks, which will arrive in a few months, will be supported at the front by Ukrainian artillery - in all senses of the word," Reznikov promised.
The minister noted that last year the Defence Ministry ensured that in 2023 the maximum amount of funds would be allocated to Ukrainian producers. This applies to uniforms, shoes and body armour, as well as UAVs, heavy weapons and ammunition.
Oleksiy Reznikov promised the first conclusions on UAVs to be made public shortly.
