The United States is ready to discuss the idea of supplying Ukraine with American F-16 fighter jets with Kyiv and its allies "very carefully," Deputy White House National Security Adviser John Finer said on Thursday, Reuters reports.
"We have not ruled in or out any specific systems. We have tried to tailor our assistance to the phase of the fight the Ukrainians are in," Finer said.
The U.S. Department of Defence has neither confirmed nor denied information about its intentions to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. Deputy Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh emphasized during a briefing that the United States is "not going to take anything off the table" in terms of assistance to Ukraine.
Earlier the Netherlands government was reported to be potentially ready to discuss providing Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets if Kyiv makes a request.
