A tribute to British volunteer Andrew Bagshaw, who was killed near Soledar, Donetsk Region, in early January, was held in Kyiv, a correspondent of LB.ua reports.
The wake took place in the Refectory Church of St. Sophia Monastery. Ukrainian volunteers involved in the evacuation of people from hot spots came to say goodbye to Bagshaw.
Bagshaw was a British citizen but lived in New Zealand. He came to Ukraine in April 2022 and began volunteering, delivering food and medicine to residents of the frontline regions and evacuating civilians from the war zone.
Bagshaw and Parry were killed by Russians while trying to evacuate an elderly woman. Their car was hit by an artillery shell.
