Ukrainian poet of the 1960s, translator, critic, and publicist Dmytro Pavlychko has passed away, the head of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, Mykhaylo Sydorzhevskyy, said on Facebook.
"Dmytro Pavlychko died tonight. I have just been informed about this by Bohdan Horyn who quoted the writer's daughter. May you rest in peace, dear and beloved Dmytro Vasylyovych," he said.
"Red is love, and black is sorrow... Ukrainian poet, public and statesman, Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Pavlychko has passed away. He will be remembered as one of the authors of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine and one of the organizers of the Ukrainian national movement. And of course, as an outstanding poet," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
