The Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration (RMA), Serhiy Hayday, may be appointed ambassador to Kazakhstan, sources familiar with the plans for personnel changes told LB.ua.
According to the interlocutors, after the occupiers seized a large part of Luhansk Region, it was decided to transfer the head of the RMA to a place where his experience would be needed. Kazakhstan is an important country for developing relations, as it has oil, gas, weapons, and is favourable in terms of investment. The Russians are actively opposing the appointment of Hayday as ambassador to Kazakhstan.
In a commentary to LB.ua, Hayday himself said that he was ready to work wherever the president sends him.
"As a team player, I will work wherever the president directs me. Especially during the war," he said.
According to sources, Hayday has a good work relationship with the President's Office.
According to the interlocutors, the main candidate for the post of head of the Luhansk RMA is MP Maksym Tkachenko. He is the deputy head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, and it is David Arakhamiya, according to the sources, who is promoting him to the position of RMA head.
Until 2014, Tkachenko ran the Master Show company, which organized tours for artists. After the beginning of the invasion in 2014, he moved to Kyiv and became a co-owner of Kvartal-concert LLC. He headed Zelensky's team in the 2019 elections in Luhansk Region.
