On Monday, 13 February, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on Telegram having had a telephone conversation with the Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos.
“I had the first phone call in the history of bilateral relations with President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr. I thanked him for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We discussed further deepening of cooperation, in particular on international platforms,” Zelenskyy wrote.
Ukraine plans to open an embassy in the Philippines, in Manila.
