A video was shared on social media on 6 March showing Russian troops shooting an unarmed Ukrainian soldier. At first, a man in the Ukrainian Armed Forces uniform looks in the direction of the camera, and the voice behind the screen says: "Film him." The prisoner replies: "Glory to Ukraine." After that, he is shot.

The Ukrainian presidential office responded to this.

Its head Andriy Yermak emphasized that the killing of a prisoner of war on camera is evidence of the cultivation of war crimes in Russia and their justification by propaganda.

"War crimes are cultivated in Russia. And they are whitewashed by their propaganda and myths about 'Nazis'. The murder of a prisoner of war is another example of this. It is also an example of their national despicable nature and weakness," Yermak said on Telegram.

He also emphasized that "there will be retribution for every such war crime" and "no-one will be able to hide from it."
