30% of the de-occupied territory needs to be demined right now, said Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
According to him, this is what the agency is already doing.
"We are talking about humanitarian demining, that is, huge work on clearing agricultural land, residential buildings, administrative buildings, and so on," Klymenko said.
According to him, there is a great territory of our country, in particular Chernihiv, Sumy and Mykolaiv regions, where there are no active hostilities, but they are constantly shelled up to 15-20 km every day.
"However, now that winter is over, demining will proceed at an even faster pace," the minister added.
Earlier, Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said it would take up to 70 years to fully demine Ukraine.
