President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
Zelenskyy said on his social media pages that they discussed Russia's missile attack on Ukraine on 9 March, as well as a new package of EU sanctions, and agreed to continue to put pressure on the aggressor country.
"We discussed in detail Ukraine's progress in implementing the recommendations of the European Commission to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU this year," Zelenskyy added.
Ukrainian ministries and central executive authorities have until 30 June to conduct a self-audit of Ukrainian legislation for compliance with European standards.
Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen said that there are no clearly defined deadlines for Ukraine to fulfill all EU requirements.
