The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) jointly with the State Bureau of Investigation exposed 15 companies in Kyiv and Kyiv Region that worked in the interests of Russia. It has been established that the work of these companies is controlled by a former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, Volodymyr Sivkovych, who is suspected of treason and espionage, the SBU press centre has said.
According to the investigation, it is Sivkovych who oversees the activities of the so-called "political office" in Moscow, which was organised on the instructions of the FSB. The task of this "office" was to conduct intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine, including the coordination of agent networks in the frontline areas of our country.
To cover up his criminal activities and finance them, Sivkovych used Kyiv-based companies under his control. These companies operate in the areas of trade, finance and transport, as well as provide real estate services.
The firms used their income from commercial activities to support the aggressor country and its accomplices.
During the searches at the addresses of the companies, the SBU found weapons, documents and other materials with evidence of Sivkovych's illegal activities.
