More than 7,000 servicemen are currently considered missing in Ukraine, Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances Oleh Kotenko has said on the air of the news telethon.

"This figure is true, it is slightly higher than 7,000. We hope that the people we are looking for as missing persons are still prisoners of war," he said.

According to Kotenko, according to statistics, usually about 60-65% of missing persons are in captivity, and "the rest, unfortunately, are dead".
