The occupying forces are mining the territory and building new fortifications in and around Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhya Region, mayor Dmytro Orlov has said, Channel 5 reports.

"The occupiers are mining the area around the city of Enerhodar. Whereas until now only the perimeter of the nuclear power plant and the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir were mined, now we see mines and fortifications in the city," he said.

He also added that the occupiers are trying to conduct a mass passport issue in Enerhodar. According to him, people with acute symptoms are not even allowed to enter hospitals without passports or other documents confirming their affiliation with the Russian Federation. In addition, it is impossible to go to the city without having some documents on you.

On 16 April, it was reported that the Russian invaders were preparing to take children out of the temporarily occupied Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhya Region.

It also became known that the Russian invaders in Enerhodar began to check local residents more often.
