On 26 April, another prisoner exchange took place. Ukraine managed to bring home 44 defenders from Russian captivity, the head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, has said on Telegram.
"Another prisoner exchange. We managed to bring home 44 of our people. Among them are 36 privates and sergeants and six officers. These are military men, border guards, National Guard and sailors. They defended Mariupol, Azovstal, Kherson Region and fought the enemy in the east," Yermak said.
According to him, two civilians were also released. Among those released are the wounded who were tortured in Russian captivity. There are also two men whose wives were released from captivity earlier.
