Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has met Pope Francis in the Vatican. He handed over to His Holiness a photo album of the crimes committed by Russians in Bucha, Borodyanka and other towns.

This album demonstrates Russian hatred and cruelty that he brought to Ukrainian lands. Shmyhal also said on Telegram that he had invited the Pope to visit Ukraine.

"We hope that the Holy See will use its influence to return peace to all our lands," Shmyhal said.

He expressed hope that the Vatican would join the implementation of the peace formula.

"We appreciate the efforts of the Holy See to end the war and believe that the best way to peace is the formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. We hope that the Vatican will join its implementation, in particular the process of returning prisoners and deportees, restoring justice and fixing the end of the war," Shmyhal said.

In March, His Holiness said that he wanted to go to Kyiv, but only if he could also visit Moscow. He noted that the Vatican does not have a peace plan for the war in Ukraine, but there is a peace service within which the Vatican is working to end the Russian invasion.
